Internship

The process of starting my internship was long. I first started the process in mid-May through email communication with the Care transition RN and Director of Patient Care Services. I was originally supposed to start on June 20th but because of paperwork and a pause on my approval, I did end up starting until July and was only able to do my internship for 2 weeks. Before starting I had to get my CPR and BLS certification. I also had to immunize and COVID vaccine records and get my school to sign off on liability and insurance forms. I also had a very complicated schedule because I was also taking college classes during that time. After a long time and getting all the approval I could start my internship. I was more limited in things that I could do because I was under 18 but my many jobs were to shadow my supervisor, do calls, printing, stocking, and help in any way I could. I also sat through their morning meeting and was given the unique opportunity to see I want help and work in an organization like West Oakland Health is like.
